It could be easy to dismiss a limited series about the Donald. But FX's Clipped, now streaming on Hulu, is not just another rehash of the many scandals that have plagued the former president. Instead, it's a gripping and darkly funny look at the 2014 scandal involving Sterling, the then-owner of the LA Clippers, and his mistress, V. Stiviano.

Ed O'Neill is perfectly cast as Sterling, a man who is both pathetic and loathsome. Jacki Weaver is equally good as V. Stiviano, a woman who is both scheming and vulnerable. And Cleopatra Coleman is heartbreaking as Rochelle Sterling, Donald's long-suffering wife.

The series is at its best when it focuses on the relationships between these three characters. O'Neill, Weaver, and Coleman all give superb performances, and they create a complex and nuanced portrait of a very dysfunctional family.
