Early Life and Career
Lukas Podolski was born on June 4, 1985, in Gliwice, Poland. His family moved to Germany when he was two years old, and he grew up in Bergheim, North Rhine-Westphalia.
Podolski began his professional career with FC Köln in 2003. He quickly established himself as a talented striker, known for his powerful shot and quick acceleration.
International Success
Podolski made his debut for the German national team in 2004 and went on to become one of the most capped players in its history. He played in three FIFA World Cups (2006, 2010, 2014), winning the tournament in 2014.
Podolski also won the UEFA European Championship in 2008 and the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2017.
Club Career
After leaving Köln in 2006, Podolski played for Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Inter Milan, and Galatasaray, among other clubs.
He won the Premier League title with Arsenal in 2003-04 and the Serie A title with Inter Milan in 2009-10.
Podolski returned to Köln in 2019 and retired from professional football in 2021.
